The Other Island!!
We both have thoroughly enjoyed our
stay on PEI!! From the touristy stuff such as Cavendish (Anne of Green Gables),
to the many lighthouses- that are still in service I might add. We have
ventured from east to west then north to south and back again. A note to future
adventurers the GPS unit doesn’t always work in partnership with the roadmaps
given to tourists (just sayin to stop potential arguments- not that this
happened or anything!!)
From the KOA in Cavendish, to the
nearly deserted provincial park in Mill River, to two nights in Charlottetown
(Ryanne hated this motel room for some doggie reason) and finally our last
night at Ben’s Lake-, which was hard to find as its actual name, is something
else pond!!
We have partaken in live theatre to
actual fishing (and caught some huge fish), ok so its
a private stocked lake- but FINALLY SOME FISHING!!!!!!
The landscape changes are amazing!
From fields of potatoes, blueberries, corn and cranberries to the cattle and
even vineyards.
The people are friendly
everywhere we have stopped. Charlottetown is beautiful and reminds me of
Victoria- an easy walk to many shops and historical places.
Kevan had the best
ever fish-n-chips!! Yes Shawn east coast cod tastes better!! It’s easy to see
how you could spend a couple weeks to a month here in summer when more
activities are running.
No regrets, although
still grumbling about the Miramichi fiasco !!
Well off tomorrow back
to New Brunswick to a town called Sackville as they are having a huge fall fair
over the weekend. Since we are in the neighbourhood thought it was worth
checking out!!
Still cruising!!
Karen, Kevan and
Ryanne
