Back to the Artic.
Well actually I am heading to Alaska this time. I have a couple of weeks off between jobs so my buddy Mark and I are heading off to see Alaska. Karen can't make it as she took all her vacation time in September and October this year for a cross Canada trip. Stay tuned for tales from the road and photos.

Photo Update
We are both back to work today. I had a few minutes at the office – because I sure don’t feel like working – so I updated the photo section on our Shaw photo share. It can be located here

Karen and I were talking last night, yes we are still speaking to each other, about how we are both a little lethargic about returning to work. Not that we don’t like our occupations but we really did enjoy the trip and want to go on another one. Although we were glad to get home last week to see the kids, walk the dog, repair the motorcycles etc we are sort of rested and ready to go again.
We will try to give some overview to the trip but we are struggling with how to share a hundred small stories in such a way as to make them – well - readable. If in doubt we will gladly share stories over a cup of coffee J
We are already planning our next adventure. Northern England and Scotland with the kids next summer – no motorcycles involved just trains and hostels – and south Africa after that.
Keep tuned

Day Off in Burns Lake BC
Well Kevan and I made it to Burns Lake yesterday. One of our shorter jaunts only two and half hour drive from Prince George. I have to say my loving husband sacrificed another good nights sleep for his wife. I so owe him now between this and meeting Simon Pavey!!! We stayed at a motel in Prince George called Esters Inn. I had stayed here with my family many many moons ago. It was the little taste of Hawaii in the north. Well honestly it hasn't changed at all in these many moons (Kevan says its very hokey). His back appreciated the hot tub though I have to say. Once again a noisy night with the locals in the room above.
We are staying with our good friends Ian, Heather, Emily and Stefan Megchelsen. Walkabout around Kager Lake with a picnic lunch thrown in today was fun. Everyone is having quiet time (code for nap) Ian is busy prepping dinner and I'm updating our journey.
Cheers until next time

Fort St John

Well we have made it here tonight after a long days ride. Yesterday we stopped at Muncho Lake looking like a couple of drowned rats. As you might have guessed we were rained on. The plan of camping at Liard Hot Springs turned into stop, look, yes its warm, leave. Down the road to the first dry accomodation available. A quaint little "rustic" cabin. Running hot water, roof, and a dry bed priceless!! We stopped at the signpost forest in Watson Lake see the pictures. Lots of Bison (size of a Volkwagen), caribou, mule deer at the side and on the road yesterday and today. Long straight stretches and some faboulous curves. The pictures are of filling up in Fort Nelson, the cabin in Muncho Lake, Watson lake signpost forest and Kevan at the Musuem in Whitehorse.
Cheers Karen
